The University Of Western Australia
Perth, Australia
July 16-18, 2025
Overview
The University of Western Australia (UWA)

We’ll begin with an evening keynote by speaker Emeritus Professor Alan Harvey (UWA). Sure to be a sensory and intellectual prelude to what lies ahead.
This free event will be open to the public and will require a separate registration. As a conference delegate you will be given early access to tickets.
The UWA Conservatorium of Music

Hear from the vast community of artists, scientists, theorists, and wanderers as we dive deep into the ethical implications, cultural rewrites, and emotional architectures born from Synthetic Sentience.
We’re also partnering with local exploratory music producers Tone List for two special evening events at Astral Weeks (16 & 17 July). Open to delegates and the wider public, keep an eye out for more information on performers and ticketing coming soon.
As part of these events, Tone List are inviting expressions of interest from POM2025 delegates who’d like to contribute to the performances. If you’re interested in performing or contributing creatively, let us know as soon as possible.
Friday 18 July 2025

We’ll be at the Perth Cultural Centre for workshops, performances, and additional sessions throughout the Art Gallery of WA, The WA Museum Boola Bardip, and other iconic venues.
This is our most flexible day – less structure, more surprises. Catering will not be provided, but with plenty of great food options in the area, you’ll have freedom to roam, refuel, and return as needed.
We’ll then be ending the conference with a Closing Reception not to be missed. Join us at the Art Gallery of WA, alongside the immersive Revivification exhibition – an immersive art exhibition exploring the blurred boundaries where organic matter, synthetic systems, and sonic echoes converge – for networking, conversation, canapés. It’s the final ritual, closing the loop on three intense days of synthetic sentience.
This event requires a separate registration and space is limited. If you haven’t yet booked a ticket for the reception, you can still do so here: Register
